Information and pricing for Peace Pups sled dog cart rides:
Join us for fall training and come along on a dog cart ride in one of our custom dog carts. These things are the ultimate in dry land dog travel, full suspension, four wheel disk brakes, and comfortable seating. Some claim the ride is more comfortable than a sled ride due to the seat position (they are certainly easier to get in and out of). We have two double seat carts which allow us to take out four passengers per run. If you are the adventurous type and don't mind getting a little dirty ask about a off road cart ride. Lake Elmore is host to many old town roads and logging roads that make for exciting runs.
The cart tours are limited to cooler temperatures and will most likely not be available in the months of June, July, and August unless we have a colder than normal summer in which by all means give us a call. We typically run these from early September through early December and sometimes in the spring after the snow has melted. For the safety of the dogs we do not run with carts unless the temperature is under 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
This season we are offering two different options for cart tours:
Option #1 is a 2 hour outing run from our cabin here
in Elmore include a digital slide show on dogsledding shown on our 5x8
screen, a chance to play with the dogs in the dog yard and plenty of opportunity
to learn about dog sledding. These are longer runs so we typically can
only offer one of these per day.
NOTICE: Option #2 is not being run during November due to the fact that the trail is in the woods and most of November is deer hunting season. Not the safest time to be running the dogs in the woods. We will be adding Friday to the days that we are running Option #1. These are on town dirt roads and old roads so we are not in the woods.
Option #2 is a 1 hour outing run on a woods trail just 5 miles from downtown Stowe. Although we are not able to offer our slide show at these tours there is ample time to interact with the dogs before and after your ride. These are shorter runs so we are able to run two or three per afternoon.
*Note: Fall cart tour times adjust according to the daylight. In September when we typically begin running we like to go as late as possible to run in the coolest part of the day. The usually means around 4:00 or 5:00. Once we get into October we will run around 3:00 or 4:00 so the run is still in daylight. November requires that we run even earlier due to the time change and we need to get out by 2:00 or 3:00 in order to be completed before it is dark.
Reservations required
For these outings we recommend wearing cloths you don't mind getting dirty. Our dogs are very friendly and if you choose to interact with the dogs in the dog yard you just might end up with one or two sitting in your lap . We do count them before you leave so don't entertain any thoughts of taking one home with you!

Above is our latest version of our fall training cart. The new cart offers a plush suspension, ample leg room, a better view of the dogs and scenery and it's easier to talk with the person you are riding with. Due to the smooth ride these carts allow us to run on trails that would have been much too bumpy with our old style carts. All in all we think they are a great improvement to our fall carting runs.

Don't miss the beauty of fall in Vermont!
The temperatures are dropping and there is a palpable excitement in the
air. Our Siberians know that it’s time to run and they are more
than ready after a relaxing summer playing in the dog yard. They know
we are coming into our favorite time of the year. For anyone who has never
seen the joy of a Siberian husky as they roll in the year’s first
snow it’s an amazing thing to behold. You can’t help but be
caught up in the excitement and having the privilege to participate in
it is one of my life's biggest pleasures. Take a ride to Lake Elmore,
bundle up in a warm sweater and let our team take you for a ride through
the Vermont country side. There is nothing like fall with the smell of
wood smoke in the air, rotting leaves on the ground and the sounds of
geese overhead as they head south for the winter. It’s sure to be
one of the most unique ways of viewing the fall foliage you'll ever experience.

We continue to run cart tours if winter conditions remain elusive.
The pups still need their exercise so if we can't get out on sleds
in December or January we continue to run with the carts. If you are visiting
the area and the skiing is less than ideal and you are looking for something
new and exciting to do come on over to Lake Elmore for cart tour. The
pups would love to meet you and take you for a spin!
